Shariq brings more than 16 years of experience in semiconductor technology development, design-technology and systems co-optimization, and high-volume manufacturing. At Boeing, he previously led a classified microelectronics portfolio supporting quantum-based systems for the defense, space, and security organization. He led product development and scalable solutions, managing large multidisciplinary teams and overseeing vertical integration capabilities and external semiconductor foundries. He also managed the Directed Research Program at Hughes Research Laboratories (HRL) for the Boeing Company. Prior to joining Boeing, Shariq led the microelectronics ramp-up and the manufacturing of vertically integrated custom silicon advanced packaging production capability for all Starlink products at Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX). Earlier in his career, he held engineering leadership roles at GlobalFoundries and the IBM Research Alliance and began his career at Intel in the Logic Technology Development organization in Portland, Oregon. Shariq holds a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in chemical engineering. He has co-authored more than 40 publications and holds 22 patents and eight trade secrets in semiconductor process technology and manufacturing.
